This custom modern ranch house with a full daylight lower level was renovated from the foundation up in 2006/2007 with meticulous attention to detail and modern Pacific Northwest style. There are two sinks, each with a garbage disposal, and there is a convenient pot-filler faucet near the stove. There is a GE Monogram Professional stainless gourmet 48" range with six burners and a griddle, two ovens and a professional stainless vent hood. The refrigerator is a GE Monogram 42" professional stainless and there is a Bosch Professional stainless dishwasher. There is a convenient breakfast nook with wonderful territorial views and doors that lead to the large outside deck that looks over the enormous backyard. This is a well designed, sunny, bright open kitchen and it leads directly into the large two-car garage and additional approximately 450 sq. ft. of storage area above the garage. There is a master suite with a customizable walk-in closet on the main floor. The bathroom has a large, custom-glass enclosed walk-in shower for two with a custom rainhead shower on the ceiling as well as a regular showerhead and a whirlpool tub. White porcelain double sinks top custom teak cabinets by Grey Design Studios and are accented by teak mirrors. Limestone floors have radiant heat and the white subway tile gives the room a fresh, modern feel. The hallway between the master and the second bedroom is plumbed for a second washer/dryer or it can be used a more storage space. The second bedroom is just off the entry and could also work well as a home office/studio. It opens into a second bathroom, also with a teak vanity and mirrors by Grey Design Studio, a large, walk-in, door-less shower with a Brazilian slate tile floor. Again, white subway tiles finish the modern, simple and elegant look. Blackened steel railings lead you down the American cherry-wood stairs to the lower level. A one-of-a-kind, custom light fixture, designed by Ryan Smith of Grey Design Studios, hangs over the stairwell. A great room with fireplace wrapped in Brazilian slate and another wall of hand-crafted fir bookshelves is the perfect place to watch movies and for the kids to play indoors or do their homework or crafts at the built-in fir desks. There is a kitchenette/bar area with smaller stainless fridge, stainless microwave and an undermount sink with slab marble over fir cabinetry. A convenient half bath in the same vernacular of the house is right off the kitchenette. The wall of glass doors off the great room opens up to an outdoor living area under the top deck. There is a 6-person hot tub sunk into the ipe deck and living area complete with ceiling fans to make the perfect "outdoor room" from which to enjoy the one-of-a-kind backyard. There are three more bedrooms on this level. One is right off the great room and has glass doors to double as an office, if wanted, or a nanny's room. The other two rooms are on the north end of the home and are conveniently right next to the fourth full bathroom. The house is SMART-wired for high technology, push-button controls included in each room. There are seventeen high performance directional speakers in most of the rooms including four exterior speakers with their own controls. The house has cable installed in every room, is satellite-radio ready, Ipod ready, flat screen ready in two spots and there is Cat 5 wiring in every room. There is a control panel for the whole house wiring. There is a full alarm system with all accessible windows and doors wired and motion controlled interiors from several control panels. Membership to the Private Beach Club is an option when you purchase a home within Windermere, but is not a requirement. The Beach Club is a Corporation not a Homeowner's Association. However, if you don't join you cannot use the Beach Club, its facilities or make use of the security patrol. Approximately 220 homes within Windermere are eligible to buy into a shared right to 5 acres with beach rights, waterfront and dock. This area is owned by Windermere Corporation and is chaired by a board of volunteers from the neighborhood. The initiation fee is approximately $1000 and the annual fee is approximately $500. This affords you a key to the beach club (extra keys are $20) and access to the many amenities and services. The Club has a new playground, two bathrooms, two tennis courts (lessons available), baseball diamond, full size basketball court, a volleyball net, a sandy beach with full time lifeguards through the summer, a dock with temporary (up to 48 hours) mooring for boats, a high dive, a slide, diving board, and log roll. There are picnic tables and barbeques for your use and a fire pit for roasting marshmallows. Every other week during the summer, the lifeguards organize a kids' night in the park. In the past, these nights have included a movie night, a hot dog and s'more roast, a sleepover, story telling, and other entertainments. You can reserve the park for parties and large gatherings during the summer as well as hire the life guards for your party. There is a Sailing Club within the Beach Club (requires extra dues) and they have 6-10 sailboats ready to sail at any time. Easters in the park are great fun with rented miniature ponies and the Easter egg hunt, complete with prizes and the Easter Bunny, of course! Another popular party is the Memorial Weekend BBQ, which is a wonderful chance to meet all the neighbors. Dogs are allowed off leash anytime during the winter and before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. in the summer. They are not allowed in the park when the lifeguards are on duty during the summer. The membership benefits also include security patrols when you are on vacation. Off duty police in their Seattle Police uniforms will watch your house and bring in the newspapers and mail if you'd like. Let them know the date you are leaving and the date you'll be back. Membership also includes email notification of any crime in the neighborhood. You will receive a directory of all the neighbor's names and phone numbers within the Windermere boundaries. Finally, the Club area is open dawn to dusk. Security guards patrol at evening curfew to help insure the rules are observed. |
